The PLAB 2 exam result is usually declared 2 to 4 weeks after you give the test and when your result is out, General Medical Council (GMC) sends your result on your email account through which you can access your PLAB 2 result on the GMC website.
Okay, the PLAB 2 results are out and when you check it you see that you have failed. Now what? You studied hard and put all your efforts to pass the PLAB 2 test and fairly believed that you are not going to fail. You now cannot believe the result and think there must be some mistakes in checking your mistakes, and you want your PLAB 2 result to be rechecked. Can you really do that? And if yes then how can you appeal for your PLAB 2 result to be rechecked? Let’s find out.
You would definitely want your PLAB 2 results to be rechecked when you fail with just a fraction of marks and we completely understand that. Who knows someone has really made a blunder mistake while checking your papers. After all, it's a matter of your career.
If you want your PLAB 2 result to be rechecked, you have to contact GMC within ten working days after the PLAB 2 results are released. You can appeal to them via email or a letter to GMC at their Manchester address. If you submit your appeal after ten days working days after the PLAB 2 results are out then you will have to include an explanation and evidence as to why you were not able to submit the appeal sooner. GMC will decide whether or not your result should be rechecked after reviewing it.
If the GMC determines you have clear evidence of procedural irregularity, you have the following options:
GMC will send you a mail regarding the results of the investigation within 5 working days.
As we mentioned earlier, you can only appeal for your PLAB 2 result to be rechecked if there is clear evidence of procedural irregularity. Otherwise, your appeal will be rejected. GMC never accepts an appeal on the grounds that you are not agreed with the original decision. If you have the evidence, the assistant director of GMC will consider it and pass your appeal to the relevant director who is responsible for checking if the disputed facts are true. When everything is fine, they will send you the decision they made via email. The director’s decision is final and after that, you can not re-appeal for your PLAB 2 exam results to be rechecked.
